Grading Assistant is used to assist the user in grading coins. It incorporates a variety of tools and guidance. The primary tool provides images of many United States coin types at various grades for visual comparison with the users coins. Grading text and graphics overlays are provided. Most extensive image coverage is for collector coin series between 1850 and 1964 (seated liberty, barber, morgan, buffalo, indian head, lincoln wheat, peace, mercury, etc). Fewer images are provided for very early designs and modern series for which circulated grading is usually not relevant.

Grading Assistant also provides some education on grading uncirculated coins, providing an array of examples, annotated by an experienced grader. For examples, the Morgan Dollar is used for silver coins, the Lincoln Wheat Cent for copper, and variety of pre-1933 gold coins for gold.

The Grading Assistant also contains additional text topics and a Grading Walkthrough checklist.
